About Fit 2 Fly Apparel
Fit 2 Fly is a community minded, sustainable, low-waste, lifestyle brand that specializes in making active wear and casual wear for circus, dance, yoga, and pole artists, and anyone with a desire to be comfortable and fashionable at the same time.
All of our apparel is ethically made in Toronto, Canada by Fit 2 Fly owner Jennifer Moore, and her small production team. Our low-waste practices allow us to reuse and donate all of our fabric scraps to local art programs, as well as for our very own crafting program as a creative outlet.
Each of our items are fashionable and functional so that you can wear them while working out, or in everyday life. Jen believes in making high-quality garments that are made to last, and is daring to change the way of fast fashion. Each item Jen designs is made to be worn over and over again, layering with different pieces, season after season, to make new and exciting outfits.
Jen started Fit 2 Fly in 2013, designing circus apparel for her circus and dance performance colleagues and friends. Starting with apparel booths at recitals and events with samples to try on, she would offer fabric swatches and size charts to choose from, and make each of the garments from scratch, delivering to the customer individually.
In 2018, as the success of her pop-ups grew, Jen decided to set up her shop full-time within Studio Flux, a local circus hub for classes, and word quickly spread to performers all around the GTA. Jen’s positive, friendly, and personalized customer service offered customers an entirely fresh and unique shopping experience. Rather than just choosing something off the rack and heading up to a cashier, Jen personally helps every customer herself, making recommendations on fabrics, fit and style, to suit everyone’s individual needs.
Jen makes sure that everyone feels welcome in her space, going above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction, and to show that she truly cares about them. She is easily reachable by phone, web, or in person to discuss apparel-related matters, but also just to chat about general life as well. Jen strives to provide a safe community space that is genuine and empowering, hoping to inspire others to reach for the stars and follow their true self.
COVID-19 brought on many changes in the world, but Jen has continued to have a positive outlook, seeing each challenge as an opportunity for growth. In March 2020, she began making and donating thousands of reusable face masks to the Michael Garron Hospital, after their call-out for help from the community. Jen offered a vast selection of vibrant and fun fabrics to match any outfit, and to brighten a smile during a difficult time.
Jen was then featured by Blog TO, Now Toronto, and Elle Canada, and customers from around the country began ordering masks directly from the Fit 2 Fly website for delivery or safe curbside pick up. With this success, and a community focus in mind, Jen then started the creation of a line of comfortable, high quality, locally made Stretch Scrubs to help support front line workers. Jen wanted the front line workers to feel and look their best as they took on the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As lockdowns continued to keep in-person shopping closed in Toronto, Jen moved her shop online, where she is now reaching international customers. She evolved by creating her Featured Collections, where studios, individuals and brands can add their logos to any of the Fit 2 Fly items, from anywhere in the world.
Relocating her studio to the Danforth in April 2021, Jen took an exciting opportunity to expand, and reach out to the vibrant and lively community on the Danforth. At this new, beautiful location, Jen looks forward to bringing together the best of both in-person and online shopping experiences, and making new friends and connections within the community, and beyond.
